GETTING READY FOR PICARD HELIOSEISMOLOGY PROGRAM -
NICE December 3-4 2008

The PICARD mission include an helioseismology program which consists in three aspects:  (1) a medium-l program in intensity which will provide the same resolution as provided by MDI in velocity, (2) a limb- helioseismology program which aim to take advantage of the expected unprecedented quality of the image near the limb to look for g-mode signature and low frequency p-modes and (3) a low degree program based on the integrated total and spectral irradiance measurements. The satellite will be launch in June 2009. We are now in an active phase of the development of analysis tools that will be needed to interpret the data. For the helioseismology program of PICARD many tools already exist in our community that needs to be adapted to the specific goals of the mission.
The goal of the meeting will be to discuss the best approach for analyzing PICARD intensity images and limb pixels, share the existing tools and discuss our view on the best way to adapt them. Our goal is also to develop the PICARD intensity pipeline in such a way that it can also be used to analyze SDO intensity images for helioseismology. We are planning to provide to the participant simulated images built from the existing MDI intensity images so that they can work on them and test their analysis tools before the meeting. Then, during the meeting, participants can present their view on how to use their analysis codes and which developments are needed.
